Hi, I’m Angel 'Papo' López — the eye and heart behind Papo Photography LLC.
Most people simply call me ‘Papo’ — a nickname I’ve carried since childhood. In my family, it’s a warm way of saying ‘Junior,’ and it’s followed me throughout my life. It’s the name that feels like home, and eventually it became the heart of my photography brand.
And wherever life has taken me, that name — and my curiosity about the world — have always come along.
I’m based in Central Texas, and I’m happiest when there’s a camera in my hands and beautiful light in front of me.
I know being in front of a camera can feel awkward — most of us aren’t models.
So I keep sessions relaxed, guided, and conversational. I’ll help with posing, give gentle direction, and always leave room for real moments and natural expression.
Photography started for me as simple curiosity: Can I really capture what this moment feels like?
Over time, that curiosity turned into a passion — from misty cliffs and night skies to the small, in–between expressions people don’t realize they’re making.
I’ve carried a camera through state parks, far–away countries, and my own backyard, learning to see the extraordinary in very ordinary places.
My work falls into a few main threads:
• Landscapes & Travel – dramatic coastlines, quiet forests, open skies, and places that make you pause.
• Astro & Night Sky – the Great American Eclipse, the Milky Way, and those rare, clear nights that make you feel small in the best way.
• Portraits – relaxed, genuine portraits that feel like you, not like a stiff studio session.
Whether I’m photographing a canyon at sunrise or a client in beautiful window light, my goal is the same: to create images that feel calm, honest, and timeless.
Where I work
I photograph clients on location across the Central Texas area — Copperas Cove, Killeen, Harker Heights, Fort Hood, and the surrounding parks, trails, and scenic spots. I’m also available for indoor sessions using local rental spaces, co-working studios, or other pre-arranged venues when a clean, controlled setting works best for your shoot.
This flexible approach lets me choose the right environment for each session — beautiful natural light outdoors, or a comfortable indoor space when privacy or weather calls for it — without relying on a home studio. Every session is planned intentionally so you feel relaxed, guided, and photographed in the place that fits you best.
I’m also available for::
• Portrait sessions
• Small events
• Travel and landscape print inquiries
And I’m always happy to discuss custom projects if you have something special in mind.
